Dear Liesel,

You came to me as most do, eyes closed, umbilical cord remnants and due to some not so happy circumstances. You came with a brother, Bishop, who I hardly knew. He faded quickly and I was glad to have time with him in his last hours. You were different. Very different. For starters, your fur came out in big chunks and your face was very angular, which can be a sigh of fading kitten syndrome. Your loss of fur became pretty severe. Also, you didn't sleep....bottle babies are fed every two hours.....you....you would feed and cry in 15 minutes. So I would hold you and sleep with you. I never minded waking up with you. I wanted you to live. There was an entire team puzzled by your appearance, and there were many vet trips. Then there was the weight game.....you did not gain weight. Another scary thing. You were tiny. I had many conversations about my concern for you. You, however, were amazingly strong and unaffected by this. There was no doubt that you and I had formed a very close bond. I became very accustomed to your baby coos in my ear and your sweet kisses. The bbs I had were younger than you, and I watched them grow as you stayed small. It seemed like forever but you finally turned a corner ( thank you to the CCI village and Jennifer McClung Heather Mitchell Phyllis Ayoob. There is always an entire team of people behind each rescue). You grew fur, gained weight and started to look like a cat. Today, I am overjoyed by your growth and the fact that you are thriving. You are worth every second of everthing. You were always very strong and confident. You never missed a beat. I can still see your tiny head peeking out of the box as you called for me. I feel like a proud parent. I see you becoming independent and needing me less, which is what all of them do. You come when youre called and you know your name. You are a smart girl.

Thank you for giving me an abundance of love and sweet moments, we had so many. I love you with all my heart, my sweet bb

 

 

This kitty is currently in a loving foster home and has been tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, has age appropriate vaccinations, and has been spayed/neutered.
