Dixie came to us as a mama cat who had lost her kittens and was depressed. We matched her up with four other newborn kittens who had lost their mom, and Dixie and the kittens have thrived!
Dixie was underweight when we took her in. We don’t know much about her life, but she was being fed by someone as a ”backyard kitty”. She took to the orphaned kittens immediately and gave them excellent care. Dixie is meticulous with her own grooming, as well, and she has excellent litter box skills.
Dixie has a fantastic, easy-going, loving personality. She communicates with chirps and trills (she’s very talkative) and never hesitates to come running for attention when she sees you. She is VERY gentle and calm, and will make someone a wonderful lap cat. She gets along with her foster’s big dog, but would prefer a home that’s not too noisy
We think Dixie has raised several litters of kittens, and now deserves a fabulous home with sunny windows and maybe a screened porch where she can relax and enjoy her retirement.
Dixie is fully vetted, is a good weight, and is super healthy. The only way you would guess she is a little older is by her teeth — she only has two of them. This does not affect her eating habits — she enjoys both wet and dry food. A better diet than what she was used to may help her keep her remaining teeth.
This kitty is currently in a loving foster home and has been tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, has age appropriate vaccinations, and has been spayed/neutered.
