Phlox seems at first very shy and reserved, but once she has warmed up to new people and surroundings she loves to be petted and stroked and has a purr like an engine. When she came to us, she spent the first night hiding behind the sofa, the second making little calls for attention. She was not - quite brave enough to jump up onto the bed, but she was delighted when my husband let his arm hang down towards the floor and she could head butt and lick his hand. She was also very happy when he gave her chin and ear rubs. By the next night she was on the bed, sleeping in the curve behind my knees. When the time came to allow her to mix with the rest of the cats it took her three days of venturing further and further from ‘her’ room and into the living days. Withing another three days she was fully integrated and playing with the other cats. She seems to think three is a good, cautious number. She loves to play, loves the toy rubber ball with the squeaky mouse inside, is very affectionate with other cats and likes human company, although she will watch from the shadows until she is sure of someone new. Although still shy at first meeting, Phlox is growing more confident daily and is a loving, sweet natured girl.
This kitty is currently in a loving foster home and has been tested negative for FIV/FELV, microchipped, has age-appropriate vaccinations, and has been spayed/neutered.
